Cucumber Pineapple Detox Smoothie

This refreshing smoothie is packed with essential nutrients that naturally detoxify the body. Cucumber promotes hydration which can boost metabolism and aid in flushing out toxins; and pineapple eases digestion, boosts immunity, and has incredible anti-inflammatory properties. When you put the two together, it makes for a seriously amazing tonic for the whole body.


For this recipe, I added banana to sweeten things up a bit, and coconut milk to complement the flavor of the pineapple. When you mix it all together your get an amazingly frothy drink that is comparable to a Pina colada.


This smoothie can be enjoyed any time of day but, is particularly great after a long workout. Bromelain, a group of enzymes found in pineapple, has incredible anti-inflammatory properties that aid in quicker recovery by reducing tissue inflammation.




To make this smoothie at home you'll need:


-1 ripe banana

-1/2 of a large cucumber

-1 cup frozen pineapple

-2 cups unsweetened coconut milk



Directions:

  1. Add your banana, cucumber, frozen pineapple, and coconut milk to a high speed blender. Blend until smooth.

  2. Pour into a 32 ounce glass

  3. Garnish with cucumber or fresh pineapple.

  4. Enjoy!









NOTES:

You can use fresh pineapple and skip the banana if you want a delicious detox juice. If you have a tree nut allergy and are worried about using coconut milk, you can substitute it out for rice or oat milk.
